How do I book offline to avoid processing fees?
Some of our tours may have a small processing fee. For larger groups or for those on a budget, we understand! To avoid the processing fees associated with booking some of ours online, you can call us to secure your date silly by giving us a call!
What is your cancellation policy and is it free of charge?
We offer free cancellations within 24 hours before your tour start time.
How do I find you? Where does our adventure start?
We provide location and directions in our booking confirmation to you when you reserve your trip.
Why is it better to book through your website and not a reseller?
Booking directly through us makes it easier for you to reschedule or cancel your tour as well as direct access to us for information, questions, concerns, and requests.
Are there any family friendly tours, for young children?
Yes, any of our tours can be “Private” with no minimum age and it is a fantastic option for the whole family. In the winter season, we have a fun sledding and tubing adventure that is great for both kids and adults.
How are your tours in terms of difficulty?
We have four different categories that help participants get a better understanding of what to expect from the tour. The categories are Easy, Moderate, Challenging, and Demanding. Most of our tours are rated to make it easier for you to find a tour that suits you.
How many people can join a tour?
We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our local guides. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect up to 15 travelers on a trip over holidays but the average is around 6-10. Check individual trip pages for maximum group sizes.
I’m a single traveler, why can’t I book through your site?
We love our solo adventurers, just give us a call so that we can add you to a group that is fun and eager to meet you!
Can I join a tour late or leave it early?
It’s extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early however you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better! We recommend booking 6-12 months prior to your departure. Popular trips and trips departing during busier times sell out quicker, so it’s best to book as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
What should I wear?
We suggest warm layers, even in the summer as we have seen it snow in every month of the year!
What if the activity that I booked is not available/full?
Fully booked trips are likely to have more openings as the trip date nears. Please call us so that we may add you to the waitlist! Once added, you will be notified if/when an opening becomes available.
Do you provide transportation?
We do not provide transportation to the tour locations however our locations are easily accessible by taxis, Uber Lyft, and sometimes bus.
How is Tahoe Outdoor Adventures able to offer such competitive prices?
Our unique style of off-the-beaten-track, smaller tour is the only way to authentically experience any activity in Lake Tahoe, but it also serves to keep the costs down. We spend your money providing fun and different kinds of experiences instead of time wasting on “snack breaks” and “lunch breaks”. We pass these savings on to you with our low prices.
Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget?
Tips are not included in the tour price and tipping is entirely at your discretion. Our confirmation and trip details emails include suggested tipping amounts and these can be downloaded from each individual trip summary page.
